Oberlin in NYC: 2013 Illumination Tour Schedule

 

 

 

The Jazz Faculty of Oberlin Conservatory unite for an evening of music at Jazz at Lincoln Center, several stories above the expansive vista of Central Park in Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, featuring renowned, award-winning composers, arrangers, and performers, who also teach and coach ensembles while maintaining active performing and recording careers throughout the world. {READ MORE}


Oberlin’s Contemporary Music Ensemble, under the direction of Timothy Weiss, joins with special guest artists of the International Contemporary Ensemble for an evening of music at DiMenna Center's Cary Hall, featuring Oberlin graduates and faculty as well as the world premiere of The Tempest by John Zorn. {READ MORE}

In the culminating performance of Oberlin Conservatory's tour to New York City, illustrious alumnus Jeremy Denk '90 joins the "stellar" (The New York Times) Oberlin Orchestra under the baton of conductor Raphael Jiménez at Carnegie Hall. The program features Mozart's Piano Concerto in C Major, as well as works by Ravel, Stravinsky, and the New York premiere of Isacriot by alumnus Christopher Rouse '71. Conservatory dean David H.
