This Italianate building was built sometime after the fire of 1871. This is the building that stopped the terrible fire of 1882. A range of diverse businesses have been located here a meat market, a barber shop, and the Red Lantern Pie Shop. In 1927 it became the L.E. Burgner Real Estate and Insurance office. In 1948 Paul Gorske and his sister Helen purchased the business from Mr. Burgner and it has been in their family ever since.
