history of the Negro in America untouched."--Carter G. Woodson

Partnership
In the Fall of 2003, the Oberlin African-American Genealogy and History Group (OAAGHG) established a partnership with Professor Carol Lasser's "Oberlin History as American History" class (History 268) to research and record the history of Oberlin's African-American churches. This partnership was intended to enrich the experience of college students in doing "real" history in collaboration with stakeholders in that history--the members of the churches whose histories are being written.
OAAGHG wishes to thank Professor Lasser and her students for the sensitive and respectful way in which the project was approached and managed. Professor Lasser and her students wish to thank OAAGHG and especially Anthony Marshall and Phyllis Yarber Hogan, without whose knowledge, wisdom, and hard work this partnership would never have happened.
